The Most Popular Hair Loss Products on Amazon

The Amazon Black Friday sale runs from November 21, 2024 through November 29, 2024. In this post I list the most popular hair loss products on Amazon based on number of reviews. Unfortunately, many reviews can be fake, so buyer beware.

Laser Products

Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) hair growth devices tend to be very expensive, even after sale promotions. While almost all of the bestselling laser devices are not on any significant sale right now, there are some other lesser known options. Among the best offers for Black Friday include:

  • The FDA-cleared combined blue and red light laser comb from PUPCA on a 33% off sale for $120. It has a respectable rating of 4.2 out of 5 stars based on 62 reviews.
  • The FDA-cleared laser cap from PUPCA on a 42% off sale for $180. Make sure to add the $40 off coupon in there so as to get the lowest price.

Hair Vitamins

Hair vitamins are an especially popular product on Amazon. Partly because of their relatively low cost.

Do note that in most cases, vitamins, herbs and natural products will not lead to any kind of hair regrowth. Unless you are severely deficient in any specific vitamin or mineral.

  • Nature’s Bounty Biotin has 97,200 reviews, with an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars. The rapid release softgels claims to benefit hair, nails and skin.
  • Vitafusion multivitamin gummies has 86,100 reviews, with an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars. It includes Vitamin B, Biotin, Vitamin D and Retinol among other ingredients. It claims to benefit hair, nails and skin.
  • Sugarbear Hair Vitamins has 44,600 reviews, with an average rating of 4.2 out of 5 stars. They are in gummy form and vegan. They include Vitamin A, Biotin, Vitamin C, Choline, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Vitamin B-6, Vitamin B-12, Folate, Iodine and Zinc.

Shampoos

Not surprisingly, some of the best hair loss shampoos and anti-dandruff shampoos also have a massive number of reviews.

  • Nizoral anti-dandruff shampoo has 96,800 reviews, with an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars. It also has anti-androgenic effects.
  • Tea Tree Special shampoo has 58,700 reviews, with an average rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars.
  • Pura D’Or has become a renowned brand name in the world of hair. Its anti-thinning biotin shampoo currently has 28,400 reviews, with an average rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars. It is currently on a 30% off Black Friday sale.
  • The evergreen Head & Shoulders Classic has 12,400 reviews, with an impressive average rating of 4.8 out of 5 stars.
  • I covered Nioxin in the past. Its System 2 currently has 16,000 reviews, with an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars.

Concealers

I have not updated my best hair loss concealers post for a while. But the usual suspects still remain bestsellers.

  • Toppik has 36,900 reviews, with an average rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars. I had great results from using this concealer in the past.
  • Boldify has 30,500 reviews, with an average rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars.

Other Hair Loss Products

Below I list other very popular hair loss products on Amazon. Feel free to add comments if you find others with more sales.

  • Men’s Rogaine foam has 30,300 reviews. Interestingly, Women’s Rogaine has 18,000 reviews, a somewhat higher number than I would expect relative to the men’s product. Both have an average rating of 4.2 out of 5 stars.

I covered both Viviscal and Nutrafol in the past. They are among the most popular supplements on Amazon that are specifically developed for hair loss.

  • Viviscal currently has 28,000 reviews, with an average rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars.
  • Nutrafol has 17,400 reviews, with an average rating of 4.2 out of 5 stars.

Amazon Launches Low-Cost Hair Loss Medication Delivery Service

Amazon just announced that Prime members can now access low-cost fixed pricing medication delivery for men’s hair loss and 30+ other common health, beauty and lifestyle conditions.

A 90-day supply of Finasteride will cost just $16 per month. The pay-per visit “One Medical” telehealth consultation with a doctor costs $29 via messaging, or $49 via a video visit.

Amazon Launches Low-Cost Telehealth Visit and Hair Loss Medication Delivery Service

For more, read the official announcement here. Not surprisingly, the stock price of competing telemedicine behemoth Hims & Hers fell by over 20% since the announcement by Amazon. The other major competitor that will lose sales is Ro (previously called GetRoman), but it is privately-held.

According to one summary of this news:

“Hims & Hers generates more than 80% gross margins from its core erectile dysfunction and hair loss offerings, and estimate that Amazon’s medications for those conditions are about 42% and 29% cheaper respectively.”

Moreover, Amazon will offer free shipping. The company has its own Amazon Pharmacy that enables it to obtain low-cost generic medications. But you can also get the prescription sent to your local pharmacy if so desired. Amazon will accept your medical insurance to help pay for the drugs. Prime members in nearly a dozen US cities are eligible for free same-day delivery of their medications.

Ironically, this news comes in the aftermath of EU regulators targeting Finasteride (Propecia) in Europe due to concerns over suicidal thoughts. I doubt that the drug will get banned in the EU, but some residents are currently reporting shortages at their local pharmacies.

Eyelash Hair Growth

Interestingly, Amazon will also offer eyelash hair growth medication Bimatoprost (brands Latisse and Lumigan). A 90-day supply of Bimatoprost will cost just $99.50 per month and the online doctor consultation will cost $29.

Many established topical finasteride vendors add Latanoprost into their product these days, but I do not think any of them add Bimatoprost.

Dandruff Solutions

Amazon One Medical’s dandruff fighting product list is especially interesting.

They will offer prescription strength dandruff shampoos with the below listed ingredients:

• Ketoconazole 2% shampoo, foam, or gel. Note that the popular over-the-counter (OTC) Nizoral shampoo only has ketoconazole 1%.
• Ciclopirox 1% shampoo (Loprox).
• Ciclopirox .77% gel.

They will offer OTC medicated shampoos with the following ingredients:

• Coal tar (Neutrogena T-Gel).
• Ketoconazole 1% (Nizoral).
• Selenium sulfide (Selsun Blue, Head & Shoulders Clinical Strength).
• Sulfur (Sulfur8 Medicated).
• Zinc pyrithione (Head & Shoulders, Zincon).

And they will also offer two prescription anti-inflammatory treatments:

• Clobetasol shampoo.
• Hydrocortisone 1% cream.
