I have covered anti-aging and regenerative medicine in many posts on this blog. Hair loss is related to both genes (hair follicle susceptibility to the ravages of DHT) and aging. Progress in age reversal technologies is bound to positively impact progress in hair loss reversal (or new hair follicle generation).
Aubrey de Grey, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping
One of the experts from the anti-aging world that I have discussed several times in the past is gerontologist Dr. Aubrey de Grey. He is the president of Longevity Escape Velocity (LEV) Foundation and the past co-founder of SENS Research Foundation and Methuselah Foundation. Interestingly, I even talked to him at the airport many years ago when he was working hard on his laptop due to a flight delay. His unique appearance always gives him away.

This week, Mr. de Grey is in much demand due the recent infamous discussion between dictators Vladimir Putin (Russia) and Xi Jinping (China) in regards to living till the age of 150. The highly optimistic Mr. de Grey is interviewed in detail about this possibility in the below embedded video.
Interestingly, in 2010, Mr. Putin joked that he and the late three-times Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi could rule their countries till the age of 120. Unfortunately, hair transplant recipient Berlusconi died in 2023 at the age of 86.
Mr. Putin and Mr. Jinping are both currently 72 years old.
@admin maybe add this to exosomes? Acorn labs is about to trial their “secretome” derived from autologous hair cells:
https://clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT07107841
Thanks Yips, but it was already added in the Acorn post last month.
Thank Hope, Ben and Alvaro!
I will add it in my past IGF-1 post most likely.
No one wants those a..h…s living that long. The implications of despots potentially never being ousted is troubling.
Agreed, but I like the idea of the billionaires and dictators testing new not fully tested body and gene modifying technologies first.
It’s not relevant to the topic, you don’t have to publish it, but do you know this?
“Self-assembling peptide inspired by insulin and insulin-like growth factor 1 for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia”
A Spanish dermatologist just made a video. Apparently, it’s a peptide that mimics AC-GFFY-IGF. There’s a study from a Chinese university.
Somewhat relevant as the research is from China. I found the link you mentioned:
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2452199X25003573
Sometimes it’s hard to assess the value of these countless papers, but this sounds solid to me. Great find!
I watched Dr. Oscar Muñoz’s YouTube video. https://youtu.be/dcHeGzxENgI?feature=shared Thanks for sharing the news, Esperanza. I also watch many of this dermatologist’s videos, and he knows what he’s talking about.
