Rhamsydil: LG AI-Developed Hair Loss Compound

The number of novel AI-developed hair loss products keeps proliferating. The latest one is South Korea based LG AI Research and its AI-developed Rhamsydil. It is a cosmeceutical type product, so there will be no need for it to go through any clinical trials. In fact the company plans to release Rhamsydil in 2026.

Rhamsydil: LG’s AI-Driven Hair Loss Solution Set to Launch in 2026

LG (a multinational conglomerate) via LG AI Research has used artificial intelligence (AI) to develop a novel compound called Rhamsydil to treat hair loss. The main ingredient activates a key estrogen receptor on the scalp. The company presented its new AI-developed products at last week’s International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML) in Seoul (video at the bottom). ICML is one of the world’s three most prominent AI and machine learning conferences per Korea Herald.

LG created Rhamsydil using its flagship AI model EXAONE. Their EXAONE Discovery platform is designed to accelerate the discovery of advanced materials and drug candidates. Rhamsydil was discovered by LG Household & Health Care in collaboration with LG AI Research. The latter used AI to screen more than 420,000 candidate compounds in just one day. Per the company:

“The ingredient has demonstrated hair-loss prevention efficacy without steroid-derived compounds.”

The research behind this product was presented at the 14th World Congress for Hair Research that was held in South Korea in May 2026. Rhamsydil is being prepared for commercialization in 2026.

Estrogen Receptor Activation and DKK-1 Inhibition

On Linkedin, LG Household & Healthcare makes the following claim:

“Using AI-powered screening on around 420,000 candidate molecules, LG H&H identified a vitamin A–derived, non-steroidal ingredient that can activate a key estrogen receptor linked to women’s hair health. In testing, this ingredient helped create a more favorable environment for hair growth, supporting both hair follicles and their stem cells, and showed visible improvements in hair thickness in clinical evaluation. Rhamsydil has been shown in lab studies to help reduce signals that push hair into the shedding phase, pointing to its potential as a next-generation “scalp longevity” ingredient.”

      1. It inhibits DKK1 which blocks WNT expression that is a responsible for hair follicle proliferation, which means increases hair follicle stem cell count. This is important because a terminal hair growing follicle needs between 1,400 to 3,000 cells to grow a hair; the more cells, the thicker the hair it can grow. Follicles DO NOT DIE or disappear, Dr. Cotsarelis proved this around 14 years ago that the follicles are STILL there, just very small due to their cell count; under 1,000.

        The other positive is that this increased estrogen receptors, and if you’ve seen transgendered male-to-female people, a LOT have been able to fully reverse norwood 7 level baldness to NW1 strictly by increasing estrogen.

        I’m not saying this compound will work, BUT, logically, you’d think it’ll do something. Let’s hope us men get our ozempic, we’re long overdue.

  1. It inhibits expression of DKK1. It’s surprising how they targeted that post on LinkedIn towards women since it’s higher in bald men vs bald women. Although elevated in both.

    1. This could potentially be huge as a DKK1 inhibitor; Dr. Cotsarelis showed DKK1 being antagonist for hair growth, specifically the WNT pathway and hair follicle stem cell proliferation (increase in cell count!).

  2. AI + no clinical trial + cosmetic + South Korea, stacking the scams at this point. Wish I could bet on this to fail and make some $$$

    1. Damn Yip, you’re even harder on cosmeceuticals than me! Can’t get excited about this stuff or anything that doesn’t go thru FDA (or similar regulatory body) approval process but appreciate Admin reporting it.

      1. We’ve poured 100s of millions of dollars in hair loss research in the last 50 years. The one thing we’ve learned is it’s an extremely complex organ, the hair follicle. The likelihood a cosmetic will have a significant impact is about 0. If anything we’ve shown the things that effect the hair follicle are druggable pathways that can effect many systems and will need clinical safety trials.

        1. 100% agree Yip, just look at the track record of all the 1000’s of cosmeceuticals to date, typically no results and at best a weak adjunct treatment to the clinically proven medications that work. There’s a Discord I post on, the true believers don’t want to hear it, are waiting for the golden calf in a non RX treatment.
